WHAT’S NEW FOR ONSHORE & OFFSHORE: UPSTREAM, MIDSTREAM, DOWNSTREAM OPERATIONS
DECEMBER 2017 VOL 64; NO.1
New milling tool accesses restricted wells,
drilling through stuck gate valves, blockages
Well-Centric Gate Valve Milling Tool is newly introduced to
provide access to restricted onshore or offshore wells by drilling
through stuck gate valves or other blockages.
Besides safe, quick, and efficient production reinstatement,
tools can be changed out for magnets, brushes, or scrapers to
deliver additional clean-out capabilities. Drill rods can also be
added to reach deeper into wells past the Xmas tree to mill
obstructions at the tubing hanger.

Compressors improve LPG/NH3 vapor recovery
LB Series reciprocating compressors are illustrated and de-
scribed in this free brochure to “cost-effectively improve vapor
recovery in the global LPG and NH3 industry.”
Highly efficient stationary de-
signs are cited to aid environmental
compliance and bottom line at
liquid terminals, bulk storage facili-
ties, and in mobile evacuation for
LPG and NH3 gas handling, prod-
uct transfer, and vapor recovery.
Unlike conventional designs, LB
Series’ patented isolation chamber
and piston seals prevent oil contamination and cylinder blow-by.
Models handle broad ranges of
propane, butane, and anhydrous
ammonia in rail car unloading, pressure vessels, transports, or
tanks that present poor pump suction conditions.

Smaller multiphase meters address North America
shale field flow profiles
Smaller, more compact, modular
Roxar Multiphase Meter 2600
is announced to “address the flow
profiles of North American shale
fields and provide a meter suitable
for the lifetime of the wells.”
Switching from one separator
per well to one MPFM 2600 per
well, operators reportedly reduce
facilities capital investments at the
well pad by over 50%.
Additional benefits include
improved and more accurate well
allocation, reduced well pad footprint, and reduced environment
exposure as tanks are pushed
downstream to central facilities
where they can be more efficiently monitored for compliance.
Enhanced cage guided control valves unveiled
The Blakeborough cage guided control valve range is newly
enhanced with release of BV590i globe & BV591i angle.
Designed for critical process
control, the valves’ bodies conform to ASME B16.34 and ISA
75.0 with new geometries
through extensive computational fluid dynamics and flow
testing. This results in “superior
flow capacities within a lightweight design,” so the manufacturer can reduce the offered
valve size while maintaining
Blakeborough trim technology comprises improved geometric design — now modular — for lower operational costs
through spares inventory.
