WELCOME & INTRODUCTION
Robin Dupre is Sr. Technical Editor of Offshore magazine, a monthly publication that covers key issues and
trends relative to offshore upstream oil and gas operations, as well as Domestic Editorial Conference Director
of three Penn Well conferences. Robin has 10 years of experience publishing content for print and online
platforms, and she has spent the last 6 years covering the oil and gas industry.

Craig Sherer, Operations Manager, Deepwater Projects,
Chevron Deepwater Exploration & Projects Business Unit

Craig Sherer is Operations Manager, Deepwater GoM Projects, a position he has held since November 2008. He
is responsible for Chevron’s Major Capital Project Operational Readiness & Start-up of GOM Deepwater Projects.
Previously, Sherer served as Operations Superintendent, Southern Africa Business Unit from 2006 to 2008.
From 2003 to 2006, Sherer was the Senior Operations Representative on Southern Africa Projects, responsible
for Operations Readiness and start-up activities offshore Angola. From 1998 to 2003, Sherer was a Gas Plant
Supervisor in Escravos, Nigeria. Over his career he has been involved with 7 Major Capital Projects mainly in
the U.S. and West Africa.
Sherer joined Chevron in 1975 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility over the last 38 years.
He is married with three children and 4 grandchildren.
Eric Sirgo, General Manager, Major Capital Projects, Chevron
Eric currently serves as General Manager of Major Capital Projects within Chevron’s Deepwater Exploration
and Production (DWEP) Business Unit. Headquartered in Houston, Texas. DWEP manages exploration,
appraisal, and development projects in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. DWEP explores in water depths ranging
from 1,500 to 10,000 feet and is a significant lease holder and active driller in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
Eric has 27 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in
Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas in 1987 and joined Chevron that same
year as a facilities Engineer in Midland, Texas.
Eric has held a variety of upstream technical and managerial positions in his Chevron career, including
multiple assignments in Texas, California and Louisiana and Scotland. He has held roles in Construction,
Operations, Business Planning and Asset Development in both offshore and onshore environments. He served
as an advisor to the Executive Vice President of Upstream at Chevron’s headquarters in San Ramon, CA as
well as the North America Information Technology Manager in Houston, TX. Prior to his current position,
he was appointed General Manager of Operations for Chevron Europe in the UK North Sea and Director of
Chevron’s non-operated business in Denmark.
He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a registered Professional Engineer. Eric is married
with two children.
