Menko Deroos, CEO, Xicato
Menko spent 10 years with Philips Lighting including
executive responsibility in Belgium and China and as
GM for Alpignano Lamps in Italy. At Lumileds, Menko
transitioned from Business Unit Manager to building
and leading a diverse team as Executive VP, New
Business Development. Menko then transferred to
Malaysia, and ran the fast-growing global operations.
Menko co-founded Xicato in July 2007.

Moneer Azzam, President & CEO,
Moneer Azzam is founder and CEO of SolarOne®
Solutions. He was CTO for Solar Dynamicsn and worked
in Marketing and Sales at ASE Americas and Mobil
Solar. He has three issued and one pending patents.
Mr. Azzam worked with IEC Technical Committee 82,
UL 1703, IEEE SC21 and Consortium for Solar Lighting.
Moneer serves as Co-Chair of the United Nations
Sustainability Energy Access for All Practitioners
Network Standards Work Group. Moneer is a graduate
of Tufts University with post-graduate work at University
of Pittsburgh and Northeastern University.
Advanced Lighting Technologies (ALT) is an R&D and Intellectual
Property company developing LED driver technology. ALT’s technology
dramatically reduces the cost and increases the lifetime of LED lamps
by developing and integrating LED power supplies (drivers) designed
and built using proprietary disciplines, eliminating unreliable parts such
as electrolytic capacitors, and, in many cases, coils and EMI flters.
Ray Martin, President and CEO, ALT Inc.
Ray is CEO and co-founder of Advanced Lighting
Technologies. He has 30 years of experience in
the semiconductor and energy industries. At Asyst
Technologies, Ray helped introduce new products
which helped revenue grow from $22 million to $492
million in 5 years. Ray also worked Intel’s advanced
microprocessors. Ray has a BS degree in Industrial
Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Master of Science
in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University.
InfniLED supplies the world’s smallest, most effcient and directional
LED light sources. The µLED has many of the benefts of lasers
and LEDs and produces light only where it is needed. Ongoing
development of the µLED is leading to super-effcient white light
solutions and single chip colour micro-displays for applications such
as head-up displays and pico-projectors.
Joe O’Keeffe, CEO, INfniLED
Joe O’Keeffe is a serial entrepreneur with over 10
start-ups in the past 14 years. He held executive
positions in SensL NanoComms Limited, EnBIO, Infow,
Science Works Ventures plc, and with Motorola in
Russia. He holds a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering
from University College Dublin, an MSc in Computer
Applications from Dublin City University and an MBA
from Dublin City University.
