Mr. Mauricio Gutierrez
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Offcer
In his role as Chief Operating Offcer, Mauricio Gutierrez is responsible, as he describes it, for“making sure the trains run
on time.” He holds top responsibility for ensuring that NRG’s entire electric generating and thermal feets operate at top
levels of safety, performance and environmental sustainability. NRG operates the largest competitive generation feet in
the U.S. and second largest overall with roughly 150 generating plants with capacity greater than 52,000 megawatts,
enough electricity to supply 42 million homes. Mauricio also leads NRG’s engineering and construction activities related
to new generation and repowering projects. By overseeing commodities trading through increasingly volatile energy
commodity markets, he helps maximize NRG’s fnancial performance. At NRG, he has also held the positions of executive
vice president, Commercial Operations and senior vice president, Commodities Trading. He joined NRG in 2004.
Mauricio began his career as a senior consultant and project manager at Mexico City-based DTP Consultores, working
on various energy and infrastructure projects in Mexico. When the U.S. merchant energy industry started to emerge, he
joined Dynegy’s management program and served in various positions, including managing director for the Southeast
and Texas regions, senior trader for East Power and asset manager.
Mr. David Walsh
President and Chief Executive Offcer

Dave Walsh was appointed President and Chief Executive Offcer of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas, Inc. on
April 1, 2014. Mr. Walsh has responsibility for all aspects of the business in the Western Hemisphere. Mr. Walsh is a
corporate offcer of MHPSA’s parent company, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd., in Japan.
Prior to his appointment as President & CEO, he served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Projects and
Services. Mr. Walsh joined the company in 2001, and initially established the service and manufacturing business for
Mitsubishi in the Western Hemisphere.
Previously, Mr. Walsh had been a senior executive at Westinghouse in both power generation and industrial service roles
responsible for global plant based service activities, and later their power joint ventures in China.
Mr. Walsh received his BS Commerce degree from the University of Virginia and did Graduate Study, Finance at
Northwestern University. Mr. Walsh is a Board Member of Enterprise Florida, and has been a Board Member of the
Seminole County Foundation for Public Education, and on the Seminole State College of Florida Foundations Board.
